Finding Light in Darkness: The Journey of 'Inside Out'

When I wrote the song 'Inside Out', I was grappling with the early stages of my depression. I was deeply questioning my internal state and experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions, with moments of hope followed by periods of discouragement and despair. The lyrics reflect the conflicting emotions that I was experiencing at the time, with a desire to escape from negative thoughts and emotions while still being drawn to the light and warmth of life.

The repeated refrain, 'Can you hear the voice inside of me,' was a plea for someone to understand and listen to what I was going through. Writing the song was a cathartic experience that allowed me to express myself and confront my inner turmoil. It was a turning point in my journey toward healing and recovery.

Looking back on it now, 'Inside Out' is a special song for me, as it captures a moment in time when I was struggling with my mental health but was able to find a way to express myself creatively. It serves as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always the possibility of hope and healing through self-expression and connection with others."

    INSIDE OUT

    Verse 1:

    I don’t want to live

    I don’t want to die

    I don’t want to feel

    I don’t want to cry

    I don’t want to shine

But I won’t leave the sun

    I don’t want to fall

    I don’t want to try

    I don’t want to sing

    I don’t want to fly

    I don’t want to die

But I won’t kill the rain

    Chorus:

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold

    I’m leaving the cold

    Verse 2:

    I don’t need, I don’t fall, I don’t care

    I won’t live, I won’t see, I won’t give

    I don’t feel, I don’t wait, I won’t cry, I won’t fly

    I won’t take, I won’t sleep, I don’t live

    And I don’t care

    Bridge:

Can you hear the voice inside of me

Can you hear the voice inside of me

Can you hear the voice inside of me

Can you hear the voice inside of me

    Chorus:

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold

    I’m leaving the cold

    Leaving the cold
